Prof. Dr. Ulrich S. Schubert
Prof. Dr. Ulrich S. Schubert ist Vorstandsvorsitzender der Kultur- und Sozialstiftung Internationale Junge Orchesterakademie und Intendant des Bayreuther Osterfestivals. Als Klarinettist erhielt er seine Ausbildung in Frankfurt, Richmond und Tampa (beide USA). Kammermusikkurse führten ihn zum Abegg-Trio, Hagen-Quartett, Amadeus-Quartett, Prof. Jan Doormann und Prof. Francois Benda. Er konzertierte in verschiedenen Städten in Europa und den USA.
Im Jahre 1993 gründete er die Konzertreihe "Forum Junger Musiker" in Bayreuth, die seitdem Kammermusikkonzerte im Markgräflichen Opernhaus Bayreuth durchführt. 1994 erfolgte die Gründung der Internationalen Jungen Orchesterakademie zusammen mit Prof. August Everding und Sir Charles Mackerras (gefolgt von der Gründung des Bayreuther Osterfestivals). Die Akademie veranstaltete seitdem über 260 Benefizkonzerte zugunsten krebskranker Kinder und produzierte 14 CD's.
Prof. Schubert ist im Hauptberuf Lehrstuhlinhaber für Makromolekulare Chemie und Nanowissenschaften an der Eindhoven University of Technology und Mitglied des Management-Teams des Dutch Polymer Institutes. Seine wissenschaftlichen Arbeiten wurden mit verschiedenen Preisen gewürdigt (u.a. Bayerischer Habilitations-Förderpreis, Habilitandenpreis der GDCh, Heisenberg-Stipendium der DFG, Dozenten-Stipendium des FCI und den VICI-Preis der NWO).
Seit dem Sommersemester 2007 hat er in Eindhoven eine Teilzeit-Professur und zusätzlich den Lehrstuhl für Makromulekulare Chemie an der Friedrich-Schiller-Universität Jena inne.

Prof. Dr. Ulrich S. Schubert Prof. Dr. Ulrich S. Schubert is president of the social and cultural foundation Internationale Junge Orchesterakademie (IJOA) and director of the Bayreuther Osterfestival. He studied the clarinet in Frankfurt, Richmond und Tampa (both USA) and attended chamber music classes with the Abegg-Trio, the Hagen-Quartett, the Amadeus-Quartett, with Prof. Jan Doormann and Prof. Francois Benda. He played concerts in several european and american cities.
In 1993 he founded the concert-series "Forum Junger Musiker" in Bayreuth, which now presents the chamber music concerts in the Margravial Opera House. The foundation of the Internationale Junge Orchesterakademie in cooperation with Prof. August Everding and Sir Charles Mackerras followed in 1994, the first Bayreuther Osterfestival in 1995. The IJOA so far presented 220 charity concerts and produced 14 CDs to the benefit of children suffering from cancer and other diseases.
Prof. Schubert's main occupation is his professorship at the institute for Macromolecular Chemistry and Nanoscience within the Eindhoven University of Technology in The Netherlands. In addition to this he is member of the management-team of the Dutch Polymer Institute. For his scientific work Prof. Schubert has been awarded several prizes (such as the Bayerische Habilitations-Förderpreis, the Habilitandenpreis of the GDCh, the Heisenberg-Stipendium of the DFG, the lecturer's scholarship of the FCI and the VICI-Preis der NWO). Since 2007 he has a partly professorship in Einhoven and he has a chair in Macromolecular Chemistry at the university of Jena. |
